Who is this man that will fill your heads with historical fun? Well ...

I had a great summer, hanging with my wife and three kids. We took a trip to Mexico, went to the library a lot, and played a ton of baseball and softball. I coached a few teams.  The highlight was an 11 day trip out west to the Black Hills, Grand Tetons, and Mount Rushmore.   I love to read - and summer means I read a bunch of books about CIA anti-terrorist type guys that save the world.  I also spend a lot of time reading and searching about education and thinking about this upcoming school year!

No doubt about it - I love history, and I love traveling.  A few years ago I was lucky enough to to tour England and France and learn about D-Day and World War II. You can check out my travels at my travel blog for the Footsteps of Overlord.

In 2009, I was fortunate to travel to Vietnam and Cambodia with some other USM teachers.  It was awesome!  You can see where we went at http://www.crossingthemekong.blogspot.com/

My friends at Angkor Wat in Cambodia

Hometown- Detroit (although now I tell people that Milwaukee is home)

College - Miami University – THE Miami University, not the commuter school in Florida. They have new football uniforms - I am worried.  I got my Masters at UWM, and I am teaching a college class this year at Cardinal Stritch.

Years at USM – 17th (I started the same year as Schwiets - kind of scary)
