Exchanging Ideas – A Window for Engaging Social Studies – NCSS 2012
10 Nov 2012 Chuck Taft
Looking for excellent ideas for American history, world history, and other social studies classes? Join us for an exchange of innovative instructional strategies, creative activities, engaging projects, and more! Michael Matera and Chuck Taft, University School of Milwaukee, Saturday, November 17, 10:30-11:30, Room 307
After attending multiple national and state conferences in the past decade, we have always come away energized with awesome ideas, great curricular materials, and innovative technology to integrate into our classrooms. However, we also feel that we miss out on arguably the best possible method of professional development – meeting teachers of similar grade levels and topics and sharing ideas. In this session,we will moderate group discussions in which teachers from around the country share their “ticket selling” lessons and essential resources that lead to engaging social studies instruction and learning. All of the lessons will be shared online with the attendees and also posted on the NCSS ning and #exchangeideas and #sschat on twitter. We look forward to developing a great network of educators!
